Transcend Released High Capacity, 2GB DDR2 400 Registered Memory Module

2005/02/16
Transcend Information, Inc. proudly announces the new high capacity, 2GB DDR2 400 registered memory modules (P/N: TS256MQR72V4K). This product is a high capacity memory module targeted toward high-end computing systems such as servers and workstations made by Intel E7320, E7520, and E7525 chipsets.

The 2GB DDR2 400 registered memory modules enhance the performance of high-end computing systems. Transcend's 2GB DDR2 400 registered memory modules consist of 36pcs 128Mx4 brand name original DDR2 FBGA chips. The ten-layer PCB used for these 2GB modules is designed to meet more severe specifications, by minimizing noise signal disturbance and enhancing overall performance. Transcend's superior design results in better system stability and reliability, its 2GB DDR2 registered memory modules is the best choice for the high-end market.

DDR2 is the next-generation evolution for DDR memory technology. DDR2 memory features faster speeds, up to 667MHz, higher data bandwidth, up to 10.6GB/sec (Dual-Channel), and a lower power consumption of 1.8 Volts during operation. DDR2 memory chips are packed in Fine-Pitch Ball Grid Array (FBGA) chip packages for improved electrical and heat dissipation characteristics.

In addition, DDR2 memory chips adopt On-Die Termination (ODT) to minimize memory signal reflections at higher speeds; therefore it can improve timing margins to increase operating speeds. DDR2 memory chips can reach higher capacities, up to 4 Gigabytes and their FBGA chip packages are only half the size of DDR chips (TSOP packages); both of which are convenient for higher-capacity modules. Transcend's high quality, 512MB, 1GB and 2GB DDR2-400 registered DIMMs are the best memory solution for high-end computing systems.
