Transcend launches online shop for Indian customers and offers prizes to increase traffic

After establishing its Indian website (www.transcend.co.in) and a presence on social networking platforms popular in India such as Facebook (www.facebook.com/TranscendIN), Transcend has now launched an India-specific online shop (http://shop.transcend.co.in) to better connect with its Indian customers. Transcend's new Indian web store is part of a joint e-commerce venture with its India distributor Supertron Electronics Ltd, and offers free shipping for orders totaling Rs 5000 or more.

According to Austin Huang, Transcend's Regional Director of Sales – Asia, "This shopping portal will allow Indian customers to browse the extensive range of Transcend products available in varying capacities, colors and form factors; compare product specifications; order and pay for products online; track their orders; and also download drivers and utilities. The products made available for purchase on the new site include Transcend's MP3 players, USB flash drives, digital photo frames, external USB hard drives, solid state drives, and peripherals like portable CD/DVD burners and card readers."

Transcend is determined to get in touch with its customers, especially those in the younger age group who are generally net savvy. To celebrate the launch of its Indian online shop, visitors will be given a chance to play Transcend's online racing game and win exciting prizes through July 30, 2010. In addition, anyone who becomes a fan at the Transcend India Facebook page will also be able to participate for a chance to win free gifts.
